Join the Mixed Race Meditation Group for a full-day virtual meditation retreat. This daylong practice intensive is dedicated to deepening our meditation practice, relationships, and trust as a multiracial community. Open to all practice levels.

Online via Zoom.

*Please note that this retreat and all Mixed Race Meditation Group offerings are only open to individuals who identify as biracial and/or multiracial.

  • 10:00am-1:00pm ET: Welcome, Introductions, Sitting & Movement Meditation, Dharma Talk & Group Discussion

  • 1:00pm-1:45pm ET: Mindful Lunch

  • 1:45pm-5:00pm ET: Sitting & Movement Meditation, Group Activity & Sharing, Closing

Registration for this retreat is by donation. You can also register for free, no questions asked. All donations go to supporting administrative costs, future offerings, and the energy and time of our facilitators.

 

 

FACILITATORS

This retreat is co-led and facilitated by Adriana DiFazio, Kane Barr, and Pollyanna Macchiano.

Adriana DiFazio

Adriana DiFazio (she/her) is a meditation teacher and practitioner, theology student, and community builder. Adriana co-founded the Mixed Race Meditation Group in June 2020 and co-facilitates its monthly gatherings and weekly sits. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Divinity in Buddhism and Interreligious Engagement at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Kane Barr

Kane Barr (he/him/they/them) is a co-facilitator for Gainesville Shambhala's Queer and Trans Dharma Meditation Group and the facilitator of Melanin Meditation Group, a racial minority group open to all backgrounds. Kane is a member of the Mixed Race Meditation Group and has co-facilitated for a monthly gathering and helps lead the weekly 30 minute sitting meditation practice as needed. Also, Kane participates in shamanic and intuitive practices and teaches.

Pollyanna Macchiano

Pollyanna Fernandez Macchiano (she/her) is a multiracial writer, artist, healer, and feminist in love with language and the depths of human emotion. She is a member of the Mixed Race Meditation group, has co-led a monthly gathering, and helps with holding space during the group’s weekly sits. Pollyanna also practices yoga and breathwork to inform her evolving understanding of true embodiment.
